VOLBEAT, have announced the reveal of their ninth album, God Of Angels Trust. The album is set for release on June 6 via their long-time label Republic/Universal. Fans can pre-order it now.
This release will coincide with the band's "Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide," a summer tour with more details below. Volbeat is also sharing their first new track, "By a Monster's Hand," through a new video. The song features a mid-tempo riff, mixing intense rhythms with counterpoint hooks, breaking away from traditional song structures, while the music video showcases the band performing live while following a familiar yet unsettling figure, was produced by Ghost Atomic and directed by Adam Rothlein, who previously worked with the band on hits like "Shotgun Blues," "Die To Live," and "Leviathan."
With God Of Angels Trust, the Danish band—who have topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart 10 times, the most ever for a band outside North America—has embraced a fearless approach. The album is more unpredictable and spontaneous, departing from typical song structures and embracing creative freedom.
Poulsen explains, "In the past, I took my time writing and meticulously planned everything. This time, I wanted to make a Volbeat album without overthinking. I decided to throw out the rulebook and let creativity flow. It was liberating and exciting to approach the album this way."
Work on God Of Angels Trust started in the summer of 2024, during a year-long break from touring, allowing Michael to recover from throat surgery and tour with his death metal band, Asinhell. Poulsen, eager to create new music, worked quickly with the band, completing half of the album in just three weeks. They experimented with various song ideas, following their instincts instead of traditional rules. The band entered the studio with long-time producer Jacob Hansen in the fall of 2024, keeping the process quick and instinctive. To capture the raw energy, Volbeat recorded the album live, keeping takes minimal and moving swiftly between songs. Guitarist Flemming C. Lund, who also works with Poulsen in Asinhell, contributed lead guitar.
The album, which took only five weeks to write and record, is remarkably polished and dynamic, demonstrating that a quick yet inspired creative process can still result in a cohesive and powerful record.

Poulsen reflects on the journey: "It feels like we've come full circle. After all the challenges—medical issues, lineup changes—it feels like a rebirth. It doesn't feel like we're making our ninth album; it feels like we're starting fresh again, and that’s really exciting."
Volbeat will hit the road in June for the Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide, which includes a co-headlining Canadian tour with Three Days Grace and special guests Wage War, followed by U.S. headliner dates with Halestorm and The Ghost Inside, and European dates with Bush and Gel. Full tour dates are listed below.
Fans who pre-order the album before 5 p.m. local time on March 9 will receive early access to tickets, starting on March 10. General ticket sales begin on March 14.
