Unhealthy While Unhinged, an upcoming nu-core band from Cleveland, OH, released their newest single “Lumos” featuring Koly Kolgate via Tough Luck Music. This marks their first release since the band’s brief hiatus in 2024. Watch the music video HERE.
“Lumos” gets listeners’ attention with an unsuspecting and hilarious “uwu” at the start, then immediately throws them for a loop with subsequent brutal screams. The track seamlessly combines aggressive vocals and riffs with a melodic chorus, and also rap verses that are reminiscent of classic numetal bands like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. There is even some inspiration from techno and electronic music with the distorted vocals before the breakdown. With a combination of so many different sounds, Unhealthy While Unhinged is set to make a name for themselves as one of the most unique and experimental metal bands of the current scene.
The band stated: "This is our first single back! We came out strong in November 2023 with our single "Trump Card" and then went on hiatus for most of 2024, only releasing one other song, "Cut Your Tongue," which received no promotion. Now, after coming out of hiatus and getting back on the road, we’ve signed with Tough Luck Music. This will be our first single released through them and our first release back from hiatus. For this track, we decided to go in a more accessible direction by incorporating choruses and singing, which our previous releases definitely didn’t have."

Unhealthy While Unhinged will be headlining Core Night Kent on February 14 in Kent, OH, and will be co-headlining Heavy Hitters at The Foundry in Cleveland, OH.
