TWENTY ONE PILOTS TAKES THE NUMBER ONE SPOT WITH NEW ALBUM 'BREACH'.

On Friday, September 12th, alternative rock band Twenty One Pilots debuts their eighth studio album titled Breach. Alongside sounding like a perfect mixtape of the duo’s best sounds from over the last ten years, Breach serves a higher purpose within the band's discography. Breach is the official ending to a four-album-long intricate storyline that Tyler Joseph (Vocals) and Josh Dun (Drums) have been building since their 2015 album Blurryface- the album that is widely credited as what launched the band into popularity, and more noticeably, earned them their first #1 record.

Ironically, fitting into the album's theme of repeating cycles, on September 22nd,  Breach officially brought the band their second #1 record, their first one in a decade. Beyond this, Breach continued smashing records during the weeks after its release. The project amassed 169,000 pure album sales, 40.68 million on-demand streams, and earned Twenty One Pilots the largest vinyl sales week for a Rock album since the tracking began in 1991. All of these accomplishments don’t even include the #1 spots Breach had on Spotify Globally and in the United States, on iTunes in the United States, and taking the #1 trending video spot on YouTube for ‘City Walls’.

Joseph took to Twitter (Now X) to share his thoughts on Breach’s success…

"welp Breach went #1. why did this make me so happy i teared up a little? NOT A LOT. a little. 10 years ago i didn’t even really understand what a #1 album meant, but then ever since blurryface i kind of really wanted it again, but never got it. then i stopped wanting it and just wrote an album for you. for us. and that’s when you guys showed up bigger than ever. you did this. buying vinyl, or a box set, or going to listening events, or streaming and telling other people. thank you so much. this is the most proud i’ve ever been to be a part of this band. if you only knew how many industry people are confused right now. wait, what? yeah. we did."

After ten-plus years of hard work, being completely dedicated to their world-building, creating their resilient and vibrant fan community, and creating music that has sustained old and new fans alike, Twenty One Pilots is taking an indefinite break from touring. Apart from a couple of festival sets, your last time to catch the duo for a while will be on THE CLANCY TOUR: BREACH 2025, a string of amphitheatre shows across North America this fall.

The tour kicked off last week with a sold-out show in Cincinnati’s TQL Stadium before the band popped over the border for a weekend in Toronto, Canada. As someone who had the opportunity to attend both of Toronto's shows, I can assure you this is a tour you won't want to miss. From the crowd's energy, to the band's fan engagement, to the stellar setlist, you’re bound to have a good time, whether you’re right down in the barricade or up in the lawn.
