Trousdale Sets The Stage in Glasgow

Quinn D’Andrea, Lauren Jones and Georgia Greene of Trousdale played their second show in Glasgow at the iconic St Luke’s at the start of February to a packed out crowd. They started with the title track from their latest album, ‘Growing Pains’, which immediately set the tone for the night and went down brilliantly. They then carried on with Movie Star, one of their only love songs, elevated by their beautiful three part harmonies, and incredible range between the three of them.

The gig felt quite intimate, even within the decently sized church they were singing in, and the stripped back instrumentation really helped with that. Between the three of them, one played guitar, one on piano and one on tambourine, covering all bases. Their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’ was incredible, they sang such an iconic song, but still made it sound so Trousdale.

Halfway through the show they made a point of getting everyone to sing happy birthday for an audience member’s birthday, which every single person got involved in. At one point they went into the crowd and chatted with some audience members about Scotland, and Glasgow’s culture, and sang ‘Warm Shoulder’ under a spotlight in amongst everybody. It was such a special part of the show and really made it feel like even more of an intimate show.

I’d say my favourite songs were either ‘Movie Star’ or ‘Wouldn’t Come Back’, I feel that both were so well written and well performed, and were definitely two standouts of the whole show. The band had incredible stage presence, they were so engaging and were so great at getting the audience involved. I’m excited to see their next show in Glasgow, I hope it comes sooner rather than later, and I hope to see them play even bigger venues in the city.
