Tommy Richman released his music video for the song “ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM” from his very anticipated debut album “COYOTE”. I thought that the music video was extremely well done. Elan Alexander and Nicolas Buckwaiter directed the music video. The video opens very cinematically with the DMV native rapper, Tommy Richman, applying clown makeup to himself that appears in the album. In the dressing room, he is accompanied by a small elephant standing on a table, which immediately sets the tone for what is to come throughout the video. The video cuts to Tommy and his band rehearsing in a vintage-looking backstage. Tommy then steps through the curtains to reveal a party- which is a metaphor of the pressure to perform in public. Throughout the entire video, it is teased that the elephant, which was small, is now steadily growing. The ending concludes with Tommy staring back at the now-massive elephant with the set walls crashing around them leaving the lasting impression of catharsis and self-awareness. I thought the song had a great meaning, but it also included Tommy Richman's classic sound, which was more melodic. Tommy Richman 2025 COYOTE Tour is now on sale, with shows in the major cities in the United States and a European leg of the tour. Tommy Richman is quickly becoming one of the biggest artists to come out of the last couple years so keep an eye out for future projects.
