Tom Macdonald Blocks Eminem From Achieving Another No.1 Spot On The Billboard Charts With His Hit New Single “Devil Is A Democrat”

Mid-September 2025 Tom MacDonald reached No.1 on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart with his hit new single "The Devil Is A Democrat", in turn, blocking legendary Rap God Eminem from adding another No.1 Billboard chart spot to his legacy. Eminem released his newest EP called STANS (The Official Soundtrack) on August 26th, 2025 which included a new fan favorite called "Everybody's Looking At Me" while Tom MacDonald's single release of "The Devil Is A Democrat" went live 11 days prior on August 15th, 2025.

So, who is Tom MacDonald and could he potentially be America's newest rap prodigy?

Tom McDonald is a 37-year-old Canadian rapper from British Columbia who first received recognition in 2017 after the release of his single "Dear Rappers" which is widely known to the rap community as his launching release. He then went on to release songs like "WHITEBOY" and "Everybody Hates Me" in 2018, which both address his strong conservative views and departure from mainstream rap. Tom Macdonald has since received major support from the right as well as negative criticism from the left for his continued Conservative based music with titles such as "Fake Woke" (2022), "American Flags" (2023), and "CHARLIE" (2025) following the Charlie Kirk Assassination in Orem, Utah. His music touches on sensitive topics such as race, political correctness, and the state of hip-hop as a whole in modern day America. While some look down on him for his right-wing personal beliefs and views, others praise him for his confidence to speak out proudly and exercise his first amendment rights without fear of persecution, regardless of whether they agree or disagree with his stance's.

While it is obvious that Tom MacDonald swings right, Eminem has made it very clear since the 2016 election of President Donald Trump that he swings the complete opposite stating that "Any fan of mine who's a supporter of his, I'm drawing in the sand a line, you're either for or against, and if you can't decide who you like more and you're split on who you should stand beside, I'll do it for you with this" which he then ended with "F-- you." Strong words from a strong public figure. Shortly after this comment released, Tom MacDonald clapped back in his song "Fake Woke" with lyrics that stated "Eminem used to gay bash and murder his mum and now he doesn't want fans if they voted for Trump." noting the development of Eminem's music since his early days till now. Eminem gave no response to the mention of his name and Tom MacDonald left the lyrics there to simmer.

Tom MacDonald’s “Devil Is A Democrat” has now, according to Billboards, spent multiple frames as the top-selling rap track in America and Tom MacDonald had this to say when given the news. “This is a full-circle moment I would have never imagine when I was a kid!!! THANK YOU GUYS!” Eminem has yet to comment about the line-up publicly.

As of September 22nd, 2025, there is no public record of the artists ever meeting in person but I think it's safe to say Eminem definitely knows MacDonald's name now.
