They will kick off this festival journey at the vibrant Extra Innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona, on February 28. Following that, they’ll bring their soulful melodies to the lively Bourbon & Beyond festival in Louisville, Kentucky, taking place from September 11-14, where the atmosphere is sure to be electric with music and camaraderie. As the summer winds down, they'll grace the Iron Blossom Music Festival in Richmond, Virginia, scheduled for September 20-21, promising an unforgettable experience for fans.

In addition to these festival appearances, The Lumineers are gearing up to celebrate the release of their new album, "Automatic," just in time for Valentine’s Day, with a special late-night television performance. Fans can catch this much-anticipated moment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, airing tomorrow, February 13, on NBC (please check local listings for exact times). This performance promises to be a heartfelt tribute to their latest work, adding an extra layer of excitement to the album's debut.

After two decades of musical camaraderie, Automatic sees Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites embarking on an exploration of fresh sonic landscapes and deeply personal themes, culminating in their most authentic collection to date. Now both fathers, they wholeheartedly confront the life-altering, often unromantic tribulations and treasures that accompany family life. When they reunited to craft new songs, a palpable sense of vulnerability emerged, weaving through their lyrics alongside playful humor and candid acknowledgments of their profound needs for love, respect, and connection in a world that feels increasingly chaotic.

Inspired by Peter Jackson’s 2021 Beatles documentary, Get Back, the duo, with the invaluable assistance of co-producers David Baron and Simone Felice, transformed the expansive tracking room of Woodstock's Utopia Studio into a creative haven. The setup was impressive—complete with two drum kits, three distinct pianos, and an eclectic collection of amps, guitars, and vocal microphones—allowing the musicians to pivot effortlessly and capture the essence of their sound with minimal delay. This meticulous arrangement empowered The Lumineers to perform cohesively as a unit, breathing life into the raw, organic presentation of their anthemic new tracks. For the first time in their discography, the band shares co-producer credits with Felice and Baron, who skillfully engineered and mixed the album, as he did for their last two offerings.

Crafted in less than a month, this album resonates deeply with the zeitgeist of our era. Tracks like the self-deprecating “Asshole” and the starkly humorous “Better Day” reveal a courageous intimacy and a previously unexplored vein of wit, while Automatic encapsulates the essence of what fans around the globe adore about The Lumineers—nuanced themes entwined within exuberant, infectious melodies and soaring choruses that are destined to be sung passionately by thousands of fans night after night on tour. As Fraites poignantly observes, “There’s a palpable sense of connection between Wes and me. There’s lots of love on this record.”
