Seattle based heavy pop icons The Home Team is kicking off 2025 and is unveiling a new music video for their track "Somebody Else's Face" via Thriller Records. The music video was released to the public on Tuesday, March 25th via Thriller Records. Featured on their 2024 album 'The Crucible Of Life', the fan-favorite song now gets an eye-catching visual that showcases the band's intense energy and sound. The Home Team is a heavy pop quartet from Seattle, Washington, which formed in 2013. The band currently consists of vocalist Brian Butcher, guitarist John Baran, bassist Ryne Olson and lastly drummer Daniel Matson.
The song features guest vocals from Oliver Baxxter of Broadside. "Somebody Else's Face" dives into the themes of emotional burden of memories, and the difficulty of moving forward with life as your past haunts you. The Home Team has always continued to impressed me and every song this band has released has never left me feel disappointed. This track as a whole and their 2024 album 'The Crucible Of Life' fuses a bunch of melodies along with catchy rhythms. Listening to both Butcher and Baxxter's vocals harmonize together brings out the emotional feel to the track. Lyrically, the track delves into the themes of betrayal and emotional turmoil which many people have that feeling on a day to day basis. I love how this band has the ability to combine both their melodic vocals with heavy instrumentals.
The Home Team will be hitting the road this Spring and Summer for Dance Gavin Dance's 'Return Of The Robot Tour', where the band will be performing alongside Belmont and Dwellings. The tour dates are below and if they are playing a city in your area, please go check them out. The band will also be set to perform at the thirty year anniversary celebration of Vans Warped Tour.
