Taylor Acorn Announces New LP, Shares New Single + Video "Hangman"
North America Headline Tour On Sale Now - Playing Warped Tour + When We Were Young Festival
Taylor Acorn is a singer-songwriter whose emotionally raw music has connected with fans around the world. Originally from Northern Pennsylvania, she started performing in a pop-punk band as a teen before trading in a track and field scholarship for a shot at music. After years of hard work—playing local shows, posting YouTube covers, and working at restaurants—she eventually signed a publishing deal and moved to Nashville. There, a chance creative partnership with producer Dan Swank reignited her love for early 2000s pop-punk, leading to viral covers and a genre-bending breakout moment. Acorn’s path hasn’t been easy, but her resilience and authenticity shine through in her lyrics, live shows, and the deep connection she builds with her audience.
These are just a few of the praises Acorn has recieved across many press outlets over her outstanding career. After nearly a decade as an independent artist, Nashville-based pop-punk favorite Taylor Acorn officially signed to Fearless Records last month—marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Unapologetic and empowered, Acorn now announces her debut LP, Poster Child, following the critically acclaimed Survival in Motion (Deluxe) earlier this year.
Following lead single “Goodbye, Good Riddance”—which solidified her as one of pop-punk’s most exciting and authentic rising voices—Acorn returns with “Hangman,” an electric guitar-driven anthem laced with melancholy undertones. It’s Acorn at her best: delivering cathartic, relatable stories that hit as hard emotionally as they do sonically.
On the track Acorn shares, “The idea of ‘Hangman ’ came about during a time when, even
though everything in my life was going well, I felt emotionally stuck—like the universe was playing a weird game with me...I’d be having the best day, and then boom—my car battery dies. One time, I literally looked up at the sky and yelled, ‘Oh, come on!’ I think a lot of us feel that way sometimes. Why can’t we move on from a relationship or situation that no longer suits us? I imagined the universe playing hangman as this fun visual—despite how emotional the song feels. It’s a different little spin on being down on your luck and trying to move forward.”
Known for channeling the raw spirit of late-’90s and early-2000s pop-punk, Acorn puts a modern stamp on the genre that shaped her—bridging the emotional bite of Avril Lavigne with the anthemic fire of Paramore. She's proving that emo was never just a phase, ushering in a new era of emotionally charged, high-energy punk-pop for a new generation. Her sound hasn’t gone unnoticed: Acorn has been championed across all major streaming platforms for her fearless mix of pop-punk, alt, and rock.
On Apple Music, she earned a banner feature under Punk for her EP, and landed placements on flagship playlists like Relationship Goals, Working From Home, Feeling Blue, Excited, and New Music Daily, as well as genre-specific lists like New in Alternative, The New Rock, and New in Punk. Over on Spotify, she’s been spotlighted in playlists like, Pop Punk’s Not Dead, New Noise, Women of Rock, and Fierce Femmes.
Amazon Music has also shown major support, featuring her on Breakthrough
Pop, Breakthrough Alternative, Fresh Alternative, and Pop Culture, while Pandora highlighted her in their Pop Punk spotlight.
Acorn is now bringing her album Poster Child to life onstage—music best experienced in a packed room of fans screaming every word. She’s set to perform at When We Were Young Fest, the legendary Warped Tour, and just announced her North American Headline Tour, kicking off this November.
Her latest single, “Hangman,” drops August 22 via Fearless Records, the same day tickets
