The Sunshine State’s very own singer/songwriter solo-rocker, Summer Hoop, calls attention to those who avoid accountability on the infectious and direct new track, "You Vs. Everyone".
"You Vs. Everyone" is an uphill song with powerful vocals and brutally honest hooks. Hoop underscores her ability to compose from a genuine place. She delivers unpolished songs that convey vulnerability, and that fans old and new can relate to. Even though this song is new, it is very catchy, and fans will learn all of the lyrics to sing back to SH in a live setting.
SH mentions that this song is based on an observation that she made in her personal life of someone she knows very well. She mentioned that this person felt everyone was against them in every capacity, yet, they would not claim responsibility for their own narcissistic actions. This song is a great showcase of such a contrasting theme. The song plays between intensity levels and the emotional catharsis can be felt starting with the driven beats of the intro.
From an early age, SH was surrounding herself in creativity. Her parents have been very supportive and she can recall her first concerts she went to were with her father when she was not even 5 years old. Such early memories like these impressed upon her so deeply, that they can be considered her roots that grew her to where she is now. She started her journey as a performer by participating in local theatre and starting her own bands while she was in school, gaining experience very early on.
Hoop creates what feels natural and real to her, and protects her art at all costs. Although she enjoyed her time performing with bands and collaborating, she found that being a solo artist works best for her. No compromises and everything can be fully formed with her vision as the centerpiece. Some artists that Hoops draws inspiration from are artists such as My Chemical Romance, PVRIS, Fall Out Boy, and Paramore. These are artists that never strayed from telling their truths and creating a vibrant and energetic live show atmosphere. Where words fail, music can speak up for us. Summer Hoop has found a way to commentate on those difficult topics that many avoid through the music that she writes.
From her feature on Bilmuri’s track, “THE VOID APPROACHETH” to performing alongside iconic acts such as Pierce The Veil, Adam Lambert and 21 Pilots, Hoop is not ready to slow down anytime soon.
