STARSET Unleash a New Era With Cinematic “a n n 1 h 1 l a t 1 0 n”
STARSET have always found a way to combine the worlds of rock music and science fiction, creating an identity that goes far beyond the traditional boundaries of a band. After launching their latest era with the single “p a r a d 0 x 1 c,” the Columbus, Ohio-based group are continuing that story with their newest track and accompanying video, “a n n 1 h 1 l a t 1 0 n.”

Musically, “a n n 1 h 1 l a t 1 0 n” plays with the idea of building something up before completely tearing it apart. The song begins with layers of electronic sounds, atmospheric production, and soaring melodies that gradually create a massive, futuristic soundscape. As the track progresses, that carefully constructed atmosphere eventually gives way to an explosive combination of heavy guitars, pounding percussion, and massive production.
The contrast between the song’s quieter, atmospheric sections and its heavier moments gives “a n n 1 h 1 l a t 1 0 n” a distinctly cinematic quality. It feels as though the listener is being taken through the construction of an entire world before watching that world collapse in spectacular fashion. Beneath all of it is a driving groove that keeps the song moving forward.
Since forming in 2013, STARSET have established themselves as one of modern rock’s most recognizable bands. Their combination of music, storytelling, visual effects, and science-fiction themes has helped them build an international audience while separating them from more traditional rock acts. The band have accumulated billions of streams worldwide, including more than 1.7 billion streams on Spotify, while earning RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications and multiple Top 10 placements on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
