STARSET Stuns Fans with New Cover, “Shattered Dreams”, Album Releases September 12th

For a while, STARSET has been putting out some great singles. Fans have been speculating as to when they would have them all together in one compilation. That wait has been put to a rest. The band has just released their latest single, a cover of the song “Shattered Dreams” which you can watch the video for here! In addition to the drop of the new single, STARSET has announced their latest album, SILOS, will release on September 12th!

When asked about the new single, lead singer Dustin Bates stated "For a long time, I've had it in my head that I could cover 'Shattered Dreams' in a cool way that sounds fresh, heavy, and emotive, while still keeping what made it great. For that reason, it was on a very short list of covers I'd like to eventually do. I haven't traditionally been very big on covers for this band, though, so I wasn't in a real hurry to do it. However, recently, I've started to become convinced that soon, anyone will be able to cover any song in any style with the use of AI. (It will take a while longer for it to write a great song on its own, but it will likely be able to cover songs well very soon.) So, it started to feel like now-or-never. That also explains why there are two covers on the album."

Bates has been an advocate for artists to stray away from AI, which is something everyone should strongly support. AI by no means is a way to create art. Art is inherently human; it makes us feel, brings people together, you take the human element out of that and you’re left with just gray slop. No one wants slop.

Although the album releases in a couple weeks, fans can already listen to the majority of it now. The album will have several interludes to bring the songs together, something STARSET fans are very familiar with. On top of that, there will be two new songs that fans can expect.
