When you are talking about Deathcore, it’s hard not to throw Spite’s name in the mix as one of the hottest bands in the scene. They have been quiet for quite a while, with their last single being released in 2023. They have been on several tours throughout the world but aside from “Thank You, Again” with Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel and Darius having a feature on the new Left to Suffer album, the band has been quiet. In classic Spite fashion, they just dropped their latest single, “Lights Out” and with it, the announcement of their next album, New World Killer. You can watch the music video for the new single here!
When asked about their new single, vocalist Darius Tehrani and guitarist Alex Tehrani stated that the song is about a lack of social awareness. Furthermore, they stated, "Not everyone's boundaries are shared. The most dangerous person is the one who has nothing to lose."
“Lights Out” is a great song to introduce this new era of Spite. It holds true to what they have done in the past but also adds a new twist on it. Fans of the band will find enjoyment out of it and this song is also a great introduction into Spite as a band as well.
Their new album, New World Killer will release on the only day that makes sense for them, Halloween. You can pre-save the album here! With the release date so close to the album announcement, it will be interesting to see if they release any additional singles. Perhaps one more in the month of October, but I hope they keep the shroud of mystery around most of the album.
Spite will be supporting Fit for a King on their upcoming North American tour. The combination is a strange one, but it should make for the tour of the fall. Along for the ride as well will be Make Them Suffer and 156/Silence. All four of these bands have a different, heavy sound, but all of them on the same bill will make for a fun night.
