Soulja Boy’s Swag Tour Cranks Its Way to Lincoln

Soulja Boy’s stop at The Royal Grove in Lincoln, Nebraska, has been anticipated for months. This show was a vital event for The Royal Grove’s “comeback” after getting new owners. This show was originally slated for August 16, 2023, but was pushed back due to the venue getting new owners and renovations. So the show ended up happening on April 18, 2025. With the venue being all ready to go, so was the show. There was so much energy and hype around this show that promised to bring nostalgia, but also a look at what Soulja Boy has been releasing lately.

Upon arriving at The Royal Grove, it was packed. Getting through the crowd was challenging. This show was sold out completely, including their upstairs VIP sections. The venue is more intimate than a lot of other venues, with a capacity estimated at around 3,000 people. This allowed for a lot of interaction between Soulja Boy and the crowd, which is always such a fun and memorable thing. All of the interaction only made the crowd go even crazier throughout the night.

There were a lot of DJs and local artists opening up throughout the night. The first DJ went on at 8 p.m., when the doors opened. It wasn’t until a little over four hours that Soulja Boy took the stage. The crowd instantly went crazy once Soulja Boy started to perform. His setlist consisted of newer hits like “Rick and Morty” as well as his much more popular hits like “Crank Dat (Soulja Boy), “Turn My Swag On”, “Kiss Me Thru The Phone,” and that's only to name a few. The energy in the venue was palpable, which made the crowd start hitting his iconic dance moves along with him. Most of his older hits are so iconic that everyone knows the words to a lot of his songs, so everyone who was there was able to join in on the fun easily.

His stage presence was really good. He was moving around and dancing a lot as well as getting on the rail that separated him from the fans. He maintained that same energy throughout the entirety of the show. His interactions with the crowd were pretty funny and showed Soulja Boy's personality that so many people have come to love throughout the last twenty years. I hadn’t listened to much Soulja Boy besides his hits, so I decided to check out his more recent releases, and his sound has evolved with the times.
