Skillet Support Hurricane Relief Efforts And Shares New Single "Ash In The Wind"

The world’s favorite Christian rockers are back with a new single Ash in the Wind. All proceeds of this single as well as their “All That Matters” merch are being donated to hurricane relief after the tragic damages left by hurricane Helene.

This is the third and final single for their latest album, Revolution that has just come out on the first of November 2024. The song opens with keyboards that are quickly intertwined with the band’s signature energetic guitar, followed by frontman John Cooper’s vocals. The song follows in the footsteps of the previous two singles by talking about more personnel matters that the band has been calling a “Revolution” but not necessarily being political. John has been very open about his stories, and it seems that going independent with this album means they can go all out on their messages. The song  gets to a usual big & anthemic chorus that has been familiar with skillet fans. This song is less poppy than the two previous releases, sounding more similar to the “Collide” or “Awake” sound. However, unlike Dominion or Surviving the Game, which were their two biggest songs on their last album, we do not get to hear any harsh vocals/screams, which means this album might be more melody driven like Unleashed. The song ends with drummer Jen Ledger’s vocals, tying up the song in a nice package. The band has definitively found their new sound with their last two albums, and while this single doesn’t break the mold, it sure does keep us headbanging!

The fact that all the proceeds of this track are going out towards relief from the tragedy of hurricane Helene is a nice plus, showing the band is true to their message.
