The Rock n’ Roll masters Shinedown have released their new offering “Ei8ht” Featuring a sturdy 18 song tracklist, this album has had many awards before it was even released!

On the 29th of May, Shinedown released their new album via Atlantic Records. Sporting a hefty 18 song long tracklist, there are some songs that have already planted their place in the band's identity from being released nearly a year ago. With songs like “Dance, Kid, Dance”, “Three Six Five”, “Killing Fields” and “Searchlight” already gathering millions of plays on radio stations and streaming platforms.
The standout track from the album for me is “Three Six Five”, a beautiful ballad that erupts into a powerful chorus, just as Brent Smith does best. I was lucky enough to catch Shinedown play this song last year at Welcome To Rockville as one of the first crowds to hear it live. The entire 200,000+ crowd was emotional together, witnessing what was next to come for the band.
The second song that has stood out on the album is “Dance, Kid, Dance” An energetic and heavy tune that we were also treated to at WTR, but also a song that just fits so well into the bands catalogue and shows off what each member has in their repertoire. From the attacking guitar from Zack Meyers, or the ever beating drums from Barry Kerch. And not to forget the thumping bass guitar of aptly named Eric Bass.
Including this release, the band has released a new music video for their song ”Young Again”. The song, a poppy but atmospheric tune, is accompanied by a nostalgic feeling music video, showing children and young people enjoying life, while cutting back to the band performing the song. The music video feels like a home made summer movie made by the kids in the video, but it is so well done and just makes you think of good memories. With some traditional heavy moments in the song, giving it that Shinedown signature, this may just be my favourite track off of the whole album. The day after the release of “Ei8ht” The band thwarted their lengthy tour, the “Dance, Kid, Dance ACT II World Tour”. With numerous dates in the states, before the band tackles the UK & EU for the first time since 2022. With dates in Germany, France, England, Scotland and Ireland.
