Sci-fi-inspired rock visionaries STARSET have officially released their fifth studio album, SILOS, today, September 12, via Fearless Records. Known for blending cinematic storytelling with experimental rock, the band continues to push boundaries in both music and visuals. Alongside the album, STARSET has also shared the music video for the track "AD ASTRA," and others giving fans a full audiovisual dive into their latest world.

For those unfamiliar, STARSET are either a band you haven’t yet fully discovered or a group you obsessively follow, eagerly awaiting every new release. With SILOS, the band’s talent and vision are on full display—from top-tier production and deeply emotional lyrics to experimental instrumentals that demand attention. This album is a sensory experience, one that rewards listeners who immerse themselves fully, ideally with noise-cancelling headphones and a quiet environment. As a fan of the band from the very beginning, this is without a doubt the best album since “Transmissions” in 2014.

Like all STARSET albums, SILOS tells a story, crafted within the mind of frontman Dustin Bates and translated into sound. The journey begins with the haunting introduction "praesens," drawing you in immediately. From there, the intensity ramps up with "DEGENERATE," setting the stage for the title track "SILOS," and the album doesn’t let up. The combination of interludes, instrumentals, and spoken word segments bridges the narrative and highlights the depth of the story Bates conveys, but the core brilliance lies in the songs themselves.

Bates pushes his voice to extraordinary limits throughout the album, blending gritty, metal-infused screams with delicate, emotionally resonant passages. Tracks like "DARK THINGS" and "SWAY" showcase his incredible vocal range and ability to convey raw emotion, keeping listeners engaged from start to finish.

The band’s instrumental performance is equally impressive. Ron DeChant lays down groove-heavy bass lines, Brock Richards delivers intricate, jaw-dropping guitar work, and Adam Gilbert’s drumming defies traditional timing with inventive rhythms that would challenge even the most seasoned progressive metal drummers. Tracks such as "TOKSIK" exemplify the band’s precision and skill, pushing each element to its absolute limits. The album winds down with "AD ASTRA," blending the thematic and sonic elements of earlier tracks, giving listeners a sense of closure and fulfillment. It transitions seamlessly into "requiem of the order," a haunting, electronica-inspired piece featuring dystopian tones and Gregorian chanting—a perfect end to a cinematic musical journey. The album demonstrates STARSET’s growth from their 2014 debut Transmissions into a fully realized multimedia powerhouse, delivering an unparalleled audio-visual experience.

What STARSET has presented with SILOS is more than just an album—it’s a complete work of art. Every note, lyric, and visual element has been executed with precision, showcasing a band that has poured heart, soul, and creativity into their craft. Brutal, beautiful, immersive, and emotionally resonant, SILOS solidifies STARSET as one of modern rock’s most innovative and captivating acts.
