There's a high energy force hitting the new releases today, not once but twice. Scarlet View, a high post hardcore band hailing from Kansas City, Missouri is taking the airwaves by storm. Releasing not only one, but two bangers on one day.
This group of high school friends have created a sound that blends together influences from Motley Crue, Bring me the Horizon, and Thrice. Bryce Loewenstein, Ara Coodall, Garrett Smith, and Chris Kassien bring together a sound that is both refreshing and adds something new to the genre.
First up is "On My Way", the first of the dual ep they're dropping as of today, June 3rd. This song has a kind of energy that is infectious from the moment the first note is played. It brings to mind vibes of I See Stars. The melody meshes so well with the vocals as it plays around with metalcore vocals and sounds. It is a stark contrast to the second single they're dropping, "My Fight" which sounds more like a song that encompasses a personal battle. The beats are lower and more aggressive, but no less powerful.
"On My Way and My Fight are a Yin & Yang of highs and lows throughout my life and musical journey. My Fight gets a bit more down and emotional, while OMW is a bit more rockin'. They both are expressions of similar emotions, yet are dynamically on different emotional planes within the dual track EP Sunrise." - Scarlet View
All in all, this release will make heads turn and ears listen to not only these two singles, but for whatever comes our way from this amazing group of guys. I, for one, will be adding both of these to my repeat playlist as they've fast become something I could listen to over and over.
