The excitement surrounding Psycho-Frame’s first full-length album is still alive and well. The album does not release until July 25th, but the band has released their second single off the upcoming album, “Blueprints for Idol Genocide” and a music video, which you can watch here!
The video takes place, as many metal videos do, in an abandoned warehouse. The camera shows a man in the warehouse, and then the majority of the video is the band performing in the warehouse. The camera pans to all the different members as they are playing or singing. At the end of the video, we see the man again from the beginning running down a hallway within the warehouse. It seems as if something is chasing after him. As the video closes and the song ends, there is a five second interval where the camera is shaking and then it appears as if something is in front of the camera.
The song is about something very topical, bad people within the community. Could this be the metal community or just your own community, who’s to say. However, both make sense. The song is also a commentary about finding your place within society and how there is no exact rule book you need to follow, you are on your own.
The song itself is a classic Psycho-Frame song to its core. Both Michael Sugars and Hunter Young on vocals create such a visceral combination, you can’t help but be shocked at the noises that come out of them sometimes. They are two of the best vocalist duos in the scene right now.
While we have to wait until July for the full album, Salvation Laughs in the Face of a Grieving Mother, the two singles we have gotten so far should be a testament to the fact that this will potentially be an album of the year.
