Psycho-Frame Transports Fans with New Single “The Portal”

After announcing they were signing to SharpTone Records earlier this year, Psycho-Frame dropped a double single in “No Revives” and “Breathing Napalm”. Now, the heavy hitters are back with single “The Portal” and a music video to celebrate the release as well.

The video is basically a horror movie personified. To start off, you see the band in a dark and dreary cellar. The image quickly shifts to a woman in a white dress crawling on the ground, hair covering her face. As the song kicks in, you see Michael Sugars being grabbed by the woman, but then it quickly fades. The rest of the video flips back and forth between seeing the band in the cellar and the horror movie woman in a forest. The video ends with just the woman in the forest, seemingly staring at the camera. However, her hair is still covering her face so we can never tell. The title of the song appears over her and then the video ends.

The meaning behind the song is also not for the weak. "'The Portal' is about cutting out an abusive parental figure that used manipulation and violence as a form of forced adoration," the band states. Hearing that, I just want to give all the members of the band a hug.

If you are a fan of deathcore, you need to check out Psycho-Frame immediately if you haven’t already. Calling themselves “the last deathcore band, Psycho-Frame is truly changing the game, with two vocalists laying down heavy hitting lyrics that are guaranteed to melt your face off.

With their two EP’s last year, Psycho-Frame is carving a name for themselves in the heavy music scene. It’s hard not to mention them when you discuss up and coming deathcore. “The Portal” makes me excited to see what else Psycho-Frame has in store for this year.

Psycho-Frame will be supporting Boundaries on their upcoming summer U.S. tour. Check out whether or not they will be hitting a date near you below!
