PRYVT Release New Single “HOW WAS YOUR DAY?” Ahead of Upcoming Album BACK TO REALITY

PRYVT, the rising Canadian–Korean indie-rock duo, has released their new single “HOW WAS YOUR DAY?” today. The track floats on mellow guitars and soft indie-rock textures, capturing that familiar small talk that often masks something deeper. With its relaxed groove and quietly emotional vocals, the song turns a simple everyday question into something more reflective—about connection, distance, and love. PRYVT formed online in 2023 after meeting in a Discord server. Though they come from very different musical backgrounds—Hanuel grew up on worship music and Korean ballads, while JT studied jazz before moving into production and DJing—they connected over shared burnout from their solo pursuits.They released five singles in quick succession, framing each one as a “chapter” in a bigger story and expanding that idea into their debut album, &Scene. With little public info about the project early on, fans dug through their social media searching for clues, helping their music spread quickly.

The single appears on the band’s upcoming second album, BACK TO REALITY, arriving November 14 via AWAL. Written and produced by Sam Hanuel and Justin “JT” Tecson, the album blends big, energetic live-ready moments with intimate songwriting. The project spans everything from punchy rock songs to dreamy, atmospheric cuts, serving as a companion to their 2024 debut.

While their first album, &SCENE, played like a TV series with each song acting as its own episode, BACK TO REALITY takes a more unified direction. The music leans into natural imagery, nostalgia, and a cohesive sonic world shaped by influences from multiple eras. “It ties into our message about love—how it shapes everything: the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful,” says Hanuel. “We capture moments like Polaroids, freezing emotions exactly as they were. That instinct guides everything, from the visuals to the album design.”

To celebrate the album, PRYVT will play a short run of release shows: Baby’s All Right (NYC) on December 3, The Moroccan Lounge (LA) on December 5, and a performance at Streets, Eats, and Beats Festival in Phoenix on November 29. Full dates and tickets are available at pryvtofficial.com.
