Pop-rock band Pretty Pity has just released their brand-new EP, Done Waiting, featuring the powerful focus track “Hate On Me.” Alongside the EP release, the band also announced a fall tour kicking off in early October and running through late November. The single “Hate On Me” blends vulnerability with high-energy rock hooks, pairing raw emotion with an electrifying melody. It captures the push and pull between confidence and self-doubt in a way that feels both personal and cathartic.
“‘Hate On Me’ is about rejection — both from the music industry and from yourself,” explains lead vocalist Tani Jade. “It reflects how self-loathing can make you push people away before they have the chance to reject you. When that happens, rejection feels like proof that all your worst thoughts about yourself are true. The song doesn’t offer resolution — it’s just pure, unfiltered emotion from that mindset.”
According to Jade, Done Waiting explores what it means to choose yourself in every kind of relationship — romantic, platonic, and professional. The title comes from a lyric in “Hate On Me”, symbolizing the band’s decision to stop waiting for approval from industry gatekeepers and take control of their own path.
Each track on the EP tells a different story, with “Punchline” is about putting yourself first after a toxic relationship, “Vertigo” celebrating self-belief and perseverance, “Dumb Game” highlighting the importance of communication early in a relationship, and“Whiskey” reflects on what happens when you lose yourself over time. “We hope listeners who are struggling or learning to accept themselves find some comfort in these songs,” Jade adds.

Fans can catch Pretty Pity on tour this fall with Out In Front and Public Figure supporting.
