Philadelphia-based indie rock band Fib have announced their debut studio album, Heavy Lifting, which is set to release on April 25. Heavy Lifting will be released via Julia’s War, a Philly-based record label. Along with the announcement, they have released a new single “Mutuals”, which is their first release since their 2021 independent self-titled record. Preorder the album HERE.
“Mutuals” is a bouncy, rhythmic track that has elements of shoegaze, which fans of emo and indie rock will love. The guitars take center stage, with intricate, melodic riffs. The song also has an emotional quality, touching upon heartbreak, regret, and repressed emotions. Listen to “Mutuals” HERE.
About the new track, Fib shared: “‘Mutuals’ signifies the turning point of our songwriting. In writing this track, we were trying to put the past to shame and take a step forward in our creativity as a band. ‘Mutuals’ sets the tone of the record with high-arching melodies, fast transitions, and intricate guitars. It truly encapsulates our goal as a band; to write songs that are beautiful, catchy, and complex.”
Fib debuted in 2021 with their self-titled record, and have quickly gained a fanbase with their track “Bedside”. With Heavy Lifting, their first record under a label, Fib will take their music to the next level. Vocalist and guitarist Gage Nelson, guitarist Damien Nicholson, bassist Logan Adam, and drummer Charlie Libby Wyatt comprise the band Fib, who all produced, wrote, and recorded the album together.
