Coming off the back of the release of their new EP “The Wilted”, Paleface Swiss brought their powerful sound to The Limelight in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Tuesday, 13th January with the classic Metalcore Powerhouse of Stick To Your Guns and the up and coming rock trio Static Dress.
Stick To Your Guns, signed with SharpTone Records, was the first band to come on to the stage, At 7:30pm. The Orange Country five piece metalcore legends, who formed in 2003, opened with their song Diamonds. It was an amazing mix between the build up from their guitarists Josh James and Chris Rawson with drummer George Schmitz, followed by the gnarly vocals of Jesse Barnett.
The whole band was shaken by the bass of Andre Rose looming in the background. The crowd went crazy for the bands as they continued through their set playing hits like “Amber”, “Against Them All” and “Nobody”, multiple people started crowdsurfing from the enormous moshpit that would not close for the rest of the night. The band released a new album “Keep Planting Flowers” last year on January 10th, 2025. They performed tracks off the album, which includes, “Invisible Rain”, “Spineless” and “Severed Forever”. Stick To Your Guns also debuted a song on Paleface Swiss’s new EP called “Instruments Of War”.

After a brief intermission, at 8:20pm, Static Dress took to the stage with a bang. Formed in 2018 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, Static Dress consists of members vocalist Olli Appleyard, Sam Ogden (Drummer), George Holding (Bassist) and Vincent Weight (Guitar). Appleyard burst onto the stage with his energetic and soulful screams.
Their song “face.” opened their set, with a mix of shoegaze and classic rock. Since the release of their album ‘Rouge Carpet Disaster’ in 2022, the band has since released a new single “human props” this past Thursday via Sumerian Records. Throughout their set, the band has done a live debut of “human props” before it was released to the public. To add on, their setlist continued with “clean.”, “Push rope”, and included unreleased tracks such as “CDP”, “such.a.shame”, “connor”, and many more. The crowd was very engaging with the music and I haven’t seen an intense mosh pit open up for an opener, but this was very pleasant to witness. If you have not yet had the chance to witness Static Dress live, I would highly recommend it.

With the night well under way, at 9:30pm, Paleface Swiss took to the stage with “I Am A Cursed One”. As their singer, Marc Zellweger exclaimed his famous intro line to the song, the crowd erupted as he screamed down his microphone flipping his hair in my direction. The chugging guitar of Yannick Lehmann blasted the crowd as a large circle pit opened up and the barricade shook with the fans' excitement. They continued their set with songs such as “Hatred”, “Everything Is Fine”, “Enough” and “Let Me Sleep”. After they played “River Of Sorrows”, They broke into their collaboration “Instrument Of War” with Stick To Your Guns which tore the place down with an energetic mosh pit.
