Today on May 2nd, 2025, rising nu-emo band from Nashville, TN, Morning In May has just unveiled a brand new single titled "A Master Class In Classless Acts" via Mindful Recordings. Morning In May, formed in 2010, currently consists of vocalist Jake Bartolic, guitarist Scott Vallina, and drummer Andrew Campofredano. This single is the next song to be released since the release of "Shania Pain (Man I Feel Like A Loser)". When you take a look at this band, the first thing that catches the eye is vocalist Jake Bartolic's platinum blonde scene hair. It's giving so much nostalgia and feels like we are being teleported to the early-mid 2000's.
"We're spearheading this Nu Emo genre. When Master Class was done the producer and band looked at each other like "What is this?" We went off the rails with the original vision of the song and it became something none of us could really put a label to. We wanted to really create something new that was scratching the itch between Modern Rock and genuine Emo. The song itself is about the possession and love we have that ultimately ends in our own demise. Think of a first hand account of Jeffrey Dahmer knowing he was a monster, knowing he couldn't stop, and knowing he himself had to be put down. This is our dramatic take on being human."- Jake Bartolic, lead vocalist.
Morning In May's "A Master Class Of Classless Acts" takes fans on a different journey as the band is going out of their comfort zone and exploring the different genres of music. The band is shifting their sound to a more nu-emo core band, which I am all here for. The song kicks off with a powerful, catchy riff alongside backing vocals yelling "Hey!". This give me so much nostalgia from when I was a kid living in the early 2000's and my older sister blasting scene music. Bartolic's vocals are very unique and sort of reminds me of the vocalist of Get Scared. Their instrumentals have been pieced together so perfectly, and can we just talk about the choir in the background? This is going to be a song that will be going on my summer playlist for sure.

This summer, Morning In May will be hitting the road on their 'Classless Acts Tour' as well as making their appearance on festivals such as Road To Warped and Rock On The Hill festival. Check below for the dates!
