German goth rock icons MONO INC. have released their latest single, “Dein Anker” ("Your Anchor"), taken from their forthcoming album Darkness, set for release on August 15, 2025, via NoCut. The emotionally resonant track arrives with a brand-new music video, now available to watch.
“Dein Anker” explores the people, memories, or inner strength that keep us grounded during life’s emotional storms. As frontman Martin Engler explains,
“This anchor can be another person, an animal, an object, or even ourselves—through kind thoughts or cherished memories.”
With Darkness, MONO INC. return to the themes that have long defined their music: resilience, emotional depth, and inner light. Sometimes darkness feels consuming, yet it can also offer solace—and ultimately, our own light rises to guide us back, like a raven from the ruins. This upcoming album marks a powerful return, celebrating strength, self-love, and the enduring spirit of their dedicated Raven Community.
Following the chart-topping success of The Book of Fire and Ravenblack, a sold-out symphonic tour, and major festival headliners, Darkness promises to be their most powerful release yet. The 12-track album blends thunderous anthems with vulnerable reflections, showcasing the band’s trademark emotional contrasts.
