On Wednesday, January 2nd, Midwinter unveiled their highly anticipated debut EP titled *IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SAY?*, which features a collection of seven captivating tracks. Among these songs, a few have already caught our attention, as the band previously released standout singles like "Fever Dream," "Counting Sheep," "Red Phantom," and "Poison Dart Frog" throughout 2024.

This new EP welcomes listeners to fresh sounds with the introduction of tracks such as "Monochrome," "Somniphobia," and "Letting Go."

"Somniphobia" is an intriguing piece that departs from traditional song structures, presenting a rhythmic landscape primarily composed of atmospheric beats, creating a sense of unease and introspection. In contrast, "Monochrome" begins with a similar pulsating rhythm but quickly evolves, interweaving introspective lyrics with a raw, powerful exclamation—a nasty "BLEGH" that leaves a strong impact.

"Letting Go," on the other hand, opens with an inviting and melodic beat that gently supports Kody Archer's soft and emotive vocals, gradually ushering in the intensity of Billy Toth’s heavier vocal delivery. Together, these elements create a dynamic interplay that captures the listener’s attention and showcases Midwinter's diverse musicality.

In a recent post by Midwinter, the focus was on the powerful theme of letting go, which delves into the complexities of trauma and the journey towards resolution. The track explores the emotional weight of moving on from past suffering, making it one of the most poignant songs featured on the album. If you haven't had the chance yet, I highly recommend streaming "Is There Anything You Want To Say?" available on all major platforms. This song truly captures the essence of navigating through difficult emotions and finding closure.
