Born from the hit Netflix series Building the Band, Midnight Til Morning are making a bold debut with their first-ever 7-track EP, Afterglow, which arrives alongside their latest single “Heart on Fire” and its official music video. The release comes just one day before the band sets off on their first-ever world tour across North America, Australia, and Europe (see dates). With multiple sold-out shows already confirmed in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Paris, Amsterdam, Manchester, and Birmingham, the band’s rise is undeniable.

The four-piece — Mason Watts (26, Toowoomba, QLD), Conor Smith (22, Central Coast, NSW), Shane Appell (22, Upstate New York), and Zach Newbould (22, Boston, MA) — have quickly captured global attention. Backed early on by Liam Payne, who praised their potential, the group has seen a rapid rise since debuting in August — surpassing 11 million Spotify streams and expanding their U.S. and European tours due to overwhelming demand. At the heart of Afterglow lies an impressive lineup of songwriting talent. The EP includes contributions from some of today’s most respected writers: Amy Allen (Harry Styles’ “Adore You,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please, Please, Please”), Adam Yaron (Alex Warren’s “Ordinary”), Benson Boone, and Feli Ferraro (BTS, Halsey). The members of Midnight Til Morning also co-wrote across the project, showcasing their hands-on creative approach and clear artistic identity. Together, this all-star team signals that the group is ready to make an impact on a global level.

The seven tracks on Afterglow highlight the full emotional and sonic range of the band. It brings together fan-favorite singles “Bye” and “Navy Eyes,” as well as “Ghost of Us” and “Welcome to LA,” which helped introduce MTM to an international audience. The centerpiece, “Heart on Fire,” delivers a high-energy, arena-ready anthem, while two brand-new songs — “17” and “Edge of Amazing” — round out the project with heartfelt emotion and cinematic production.

Written by Adam Yaron, Feli Ferraro, Joshua Murty (Niko Moon), and Castle (Anne-Marie), “Heart on Fire” was produced by Murty, whose clean yet emotional style gives the track its vibrant, anthemic feel. The accompanying music video, directed by Josh Harris and the team at Recliner, takes inspiration from classic 90s and early 2000s fashion campaigns by Gap and Calvin Klein — sleek, bold, and full of the same kinetic energy as the band’s live performances.

Heart on Fire really captures what this whole chapter means to us,” says Mason Watts. “It’s the perfect way to kick off Afterglow — these seven songs represent the start of our journey, and we’ve put everything we have into them. We can’t wait for people to feel that connection.”

Adding even more depth to the project, listening to their song “17” delivers a nostalgic, coming-of-age rush filled with youthful energy and first-love emotions. Meanwhile, “Edge of Amazing” leans into MTM’s euphoric, cinematic side — the kind of song built for live moments where fans can sing and lose themselves in the music together.

With Afterglow, Midnight Til Morning have delivered a confident, emotionally charged debut — a true statement piece that introduces their sound, story, and ambition to the world.
