Michigan’s 84 Tigers announce second album, “Nothing Ends,” release video for first single “The Crush of it All”

Michigan’s own punk/emo band 84 Tigers have just announced their sophomore record, “Nothing Ends,” along with debuting the first single off the album, “The Crush of it All,” along with a music video for it. Watch the music video HERE. The album will be out on October 17 via Spartan Records.

The first single and opening song, “The Crush of it All,” is one of the band’s rawest and most open songs yet, while also retaining the modern emo/punk sound they have become known for. This raw emotion is going to be the cornerstone of the record, as right before the band began writing, longtime friend and former bandmate Travis Dopp unexpectedly passed away, reshaping the direction of “Nothing Ends” into one exploring the grief and heartache of losing a dear friend.

“I questioned if losing a creative partner took the energy out of my process. Songs started and stopped. I struggled. Then one day it broke—this mantra popped into my head: Tears in your eyes. Fist in the air. That became a path forward.”

-Mike Reed, vocalist and guitarist

84 Tigers was founded in 2022 by brothers Mike and Ben Reed (guitarist and bassist respectively) and drummer Jono Diener.

“Nothing Ends” will be the second full-length album from the band after their 2022 debut “Time in the Lighthouse.” It will feature appearances from Rocky Votolato of Waxwing and Suzzallo as well as Aaron Stauffer of Seaweed and Ghost Work, and was produced by Marc Jabob Hudson.
