After an extensive nine year hiatus, Swedish metalcore powerhouse ADEPT has returned with a brutal new single “Heaven”. Watch the official music video below:
ADEPT helped shape the European metalcore scene since their formation in the early 2000s, quickly becoming renowned for their thrilling live performances. They soon started making a name for themselves in the scene, embarking on international headliners and touring with bands such as A Day to Remember, Underoath, and Bring Me the Horizon. The band made their first post-hiatus public appearance in 2024, performing at Core Fest in Stuttgart, DE. Now, the band has made their return official with the track “Heaven”, which is just the beginning of their new era.
“Heaven” is sonically reminiscent of early 2000s metalcore hits, which prove that ADEPT have stayed true to their roots after so many years. With brutal screams and melodic cleans from vocalist Robert Ljung, catchy riffs, and a heavy breakdown, these elements create an emotional atmosphere that captures the message of the song.
About the meaning of the new single, Robert Ljung shares: “‘Heaven’ is a dark and emotional song about carrying old scars into the present and learning how to face them. It’s built around heavy riffs, a massive chorus, and a lot of raw emotion. Lyrically, it’s about holding on to unresolved parts of your past but also about finding the strength to face them and move forward.”

“Heaven” was produced and mixed by Henrik Udd (Architects, Bring Me the Horizon, At the Gates) and recorded by ADEPT's vocalist Robert Ljung and guitarist Gustav Lithammer. Thomas “Plec” Johansson (Opeth, Soilwork, Scar Symmetry) mastered the track at Panic Room Studios.
