Melting, a metal band from Melbourne known for their intense sonic aggression, has signed with Greyscale Records. This news comes shortly after the release of their latest single, 874, and signals that more music is on the way. The band is also gearing up to hit the road on tour with Thornhill for the Bodies Tour later this month, performing live across Australia.
After making waves last year with three debut singles, Melting quickly caught the attention of Greyscale Records, who are now proudly representing the four-piece. "The signing to Greyscale came as a surprise," the band says. "It wasn’t something we expected, but it’s incredibly humbling to have them reach out to us. The Greyscale team has been incredibly supportive of our vision, giving us the freedom to create the music we want. It’s been a refreshing experience."

Their single 874 reflects a mix of isolation and frustration, capturing the essence of Melting with its heavy, sludgy riffs and raw energy. "When we heard the final version of 874, we knew we were onto something," the band shares. "It felt like we had finally found our direction. This is what we’ve been trying to make, and it was a moment of clarity for us."
874 concluded 2024, but it also sets the stage for the next chapter of Melting’s journey. "2025 is already shaping up to be a huge year for us," the band says. "We have a lot of goals, and many of them are already in progress!"
With the announcement of their signing, Melting becomes the second band to join Greyscale Records this year, following DIESECT. They’ll be joining a roster that includes heavy hitters in the Australian alternative scene like Alpha Wolf, Make Them Suffer, and Diamond Construct, as well as international acts like Paledusk (JPN), Casey (UK), and PROMPTS (JPN).
