A month into 2025 and we’re already getting new tunes! Two of the bigger bands under the label Arising Empire just came out with new singles with brand new music videos to go along with them. Namely, LANDMVRKS & The Dark.
LANDMVRKS is a quintessential element of the modern french metal scene, and their new release didn’t disappoint. Their brand new single A Line in the Dust is the third of their upcoming album titled The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been. This track features Mat Welsh of While She Sleeps, another band under the same label that has been making strides in the modern metalcore scene. The new track features a memorable lead that makes for a very memorable tune with nice melodic sensibilities. Lead vocalist Florent Salfati has a nice back and forth with Mat Welsh who also plays guitar on the track. The song itself isn’t any uncharted territory for the band however, they are really good at blending melodic sensible tones with groovy & jumpy rhythms. As such, the new tune is a nice collaboration between two bands that both bring a ton of personality to the table. Florent’s voice is particularly sentimental, despite maintaining his usual level of aggression.
