On September 19th, 2025, A Killer’s Confession, the alternative metal band led by Waylon Reavis, releases its fifth studio album, Victim 2. A new video for the opening track “Hopeless Gray”
What makes this music video particularly captivating is the fact that it was filmed at the enigmatic Akron Schoolhouse & Laboratory haunted house, a location known for its eerie ambiance and intriguing history. The atmosphere adds a unique layer to the visuals, immersing viewers in an otherworldly experience that perfectly fits the music.
A Killer’s Confession has announced a U.S. tour with label mates Dogma this November. The tour will begin on November 11th in Pittsburgh, PA, and conclude on November 23rd in Westland, MI.
In "Victim 2," Waylon explores the complexities of the light and dark sides of humanity. He continues the story of a serial killer determined to bring horrific criminals to justice. However, as he discovers, there are consequences for his misguided actions, even if he believes they are justifiable.
Waylon says, “Welcome to Victim 2. This is my proudest moment as an artist. It’s very difficult to be a fan of your own music, but it's easy to appreciate the people you collaborate with to create it. A tremendous amount of hard work and determination went into completing the second part of the Victim trilogy, thanks to myself, Dusty Boles, and Evan McKeever. I can honestly say I could not have accomplished it without them. This album evokes a wide range of emotions and takes the listener on a true journey, while also leaving room for Victim 3 to complete the story.”
The album Victim 2 opens with an intense energy, featuring the tracks “Hopeless Gray” and “In Case Of Emergency.” As the story unfolds, the collection of songs ventures into different musical styles. Victim 2 demonstrates A Killer’s Confession's ability to blend genres, particularly on the song “Hollow.” While this track has an aggressive guitar sound, it also incorporates a catchy pop hook in the chorus, with EDM and trap influences subtly present in the background. Throughout Victim 2, the dark inner voices tormenting the murderous vigilante are presented in a pitch-shifted manner, setting them apart from his “normal” self. The unexpected cover of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” in the middle of the album marks a pivotal moment for the killer as he begins to reconsider his humanity. The closing track concludes the album in an epic and melodic style.
