One of the most recognizable voices in modern rock, Kellin Quinn, has recently announced his new solo project Haunted Mouths. His debut album under this project, A Collection of Greetings, will release on February 14 via Rise Records. The first single and opening track of the album, “Further Til We Disappear”, is now available for streaming, and the official lyric video can be watched here.
“Further Til We Disappear” is a stark contrast to Kellin Quinn’s famous fast-paced, pop-punk anthems with Sleeping With Sirens. Kellin trades the sounds of high energy guitars and booming drum beats for haunting yet soothing synths and drones. The song even proves his vocal versatility, keeping a steady, calm voice throughout the song, which is very unlike his powerful screams usually featured on a Sleeping With Sirens track. The deeply personal lyrics of the song also draws listeners in, with Kellin naming his wife’s favorite things and dedicating the song to their love; there is an aura of beauty and safety within the track. Overall, “Further Til We Disappear” expands Kellin’s artistry as a musician and his willingness to experiment with vastly different sounds, proving him to be one of the most versatile rock musicians of our time.
“That song mentions many of my wife’s favorite things and different things we share. The whole record is a love letter to her,” explains Kellin Quinn. “I didn’t want to make a pop album or an acoustic record. It needed to be dark, drony, haunting, but beautiful.”
A Collection of Greetings is a 10-track love letter and a celebration of the little things in life. It provides a unique listening experience for the audience, immersing them into a dreamlike atmosphere. Produced and co-written by Aaron Marsh (frontman of Copeland and longtime friend of Kellin), the album was written in only two weeks of sessions with the help of his and Kellin’s harmonious teamwork.
