Keith Wallen, acclaimed guitarist of Breaking Benjamin and rising solo artist, continues his momentum with the release of a stirring new cover of Avril Lavigne’s 2002 hit “I’m With You.” The track showcases a softer, nostalgic side of Wallen, who performs the emotional ballad from the back of an open box truck in the music video. “‘I’m With You’ is a song that takes us all back to the early 2000s,” Wallen shares. “It was fun to record this and live in that moment for a little while again.” The release follows the recent standalone single “Us Against the World,” as Wallen builds on the success of his second solo album, Infinity Now, out now via Rise Records.
Known for his powerful songwriting and genre-blending sensibilities, Wallen’s solo work pulls inspiration from both the shimmering pop of the ’80s and the grit of ’90s alternative rock. His collaborators span an impressive range of rock mainstays, including members of Saint Asonia, Korn, Red, and Dorothy. As a solo artist, he fuses personal storytelling with dynamic instrumentation, and Infinity Now—produced by Kevin Thrasher and mixed by Joel Wanasek—cements his place as a formidable voice in modern rock.
In addition to his solo career, Wallen remains a vital part of Breaking Benjamin, joining the band during its powerful return with 2015’s Dark Before Dawn, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. His solo catalog continues to grow with fan-favorite tracks like “Dream Away” from his 2021 debut This World or the Next, and newer cuts like “Blackout” and “Headspace Holiday,” which explore both sonic boldness and emotional nuance.
