Rising artist, Katerina Nicole is poised to make waves with her debut EP, "Serene In Violent Oceans" due out February 21st, 2025. Armed with beautifully haunting vocals to shatter glass but the power to create a tsunami, Katerina crafts songs that feel like the lighthouse standing tall in the storm guiding you to safety.
Her single, "What I Know Now" is a heavy track in which Katerina explores self-discovery and embraces the desire to drop the mask of societal expectations and escape confusion that comes with abandoning yourself for approval from others. Her relatable lyrics and confidence in her own abilities show that she's ready to take what's hers without apologizing for the toes she steps on.
The video for the new single follows Katerina on a journey of self discovery and a battle against societal norms portrayed by a medical team trying to keep her comfortably numb and "proper" by hooking her up to machines in a cold hospital room. Throughout the video, her attempts to break free of the mask she's forced to wear and to find her true self comes in flashes of bright, warm colors contrasting the dark, dreary, frigid blue that suffocates her. Never relenting on her own self empowerment, Katerina reminds the listener that our fulfillment comes from acknowledging our own worth and following our passions.
The EP blends the delicate with the unrelenting into the quiet eye of the storm and each song pulls the threads to reveal transformations through resilience and strength from the chaos.
