Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their breakthrough album Bleed American, Arizona emo-rock icons Jimmy Eat World have announced a massive headliner tour starting this summer. The tour begins on June 9 at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, CO, and concludes in November at Vans Warped Tour in Orlando, FL. Watch the promo video below:
This career-defining tour not only marks Jimmy Eat World’s return to Vans Warped Tour after 25 years with performances in all five stops, it also includes three previously announced UK dates, with sold-out shows on August 14 in Halifax and on August 15 at Cardiff Castle in Wales, concluded by the band’s biggest UK headliner at Gunnersbury Park on August 16.
As they prepare to embark on this tour, the band reflects on Bleed American with a new sense of gratitude, wanting to give back to the fans that made this all possible. Frontman Jim Adkins shares: “I feel like at this time in our lives, especially for me, it’s important to get back to a place that you can savor. This tour is designed to be an elevated version of our show, a heightened experience with production that reflects 25 years of learning how to stretch artistically in the live environment.”
The band will perform the entirety of Bleed American, as well as many other fan-favorites.
Released on July 24, 2001 via Dreamworks Records, Bleed American was a trailblazing album that helped push alternative rock into the mainstream, eventually inspiring following generations of bands such as Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, and The Wonder Years. The album has been certified platinum in the US and certified gold in the UK, and hit single “The Middle” has recently reached the milestone of 1 billion streams on Spotify.
Adkins says: “When we printed the last mix of 'Bleed American', we felt like we had achieved something great for ourselves. There was no barometer of how it would connect with people outside of the studio, and we are still in awe with the life the record and songs have had since their original release. 'Bleed American' is as much yours as it is ours, so we want to celebrate it with you all in a very special way.”
