Words of a Goat Princess Vol. II: The People’s Purge arrives October 21
Grammy-nominated, six-time Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter and bestselling author Jessie Reyez has announced a North American book tour in support of her upcoming poetry collection, Words of a Goat Princess Vol. II: The People’s Purge, out October 21. The tour begins October 15 in Washington, D.C., with stops in Chicago, New York City, Dallas, and more, plus additional dates to be revealed soon.
Following the breakout success of her 2024 USA Today bestselling debut Words of a Goat Princess, Reyez returns with a daring new collection that explores collaboration, vulnerability, and the power of community. Inspired by her beloved Instagram series, the book features spontaneous poems written in response to prompts from fans worldwide. Each chapter begins with actual screenshots of those fan submissions, grounding the work in connection and shared creativity.
From fleeting moments like a leaf on the ground to themes of heartbreak, addiction, abandonment, and renewal, Reyez transforms suggestions into unflinching poetry full of honesty and heart. Every poem is paired with striking illustrations from French Caribbean artist Eloïse Diot, adding visual depth to Reyez’s raw, lyrical storytelling. The result is an intimate, immersive collection that challenges readers to release guilt, embrace vulnerability, and find beauty in imperfection.
On tour, Reyez will share select readings, the stories behind her writing, and live Q&A sessions, giving fans a rare, personal glimpse into her creative process.
