I had the chance to ask Dan about how Riff Haven Audio was brought to life and this was what he had to say:
"I’ve been recording music for a long time. In the past handful of years, I’ve been working out of various studios on Long Island or recording artists at their homes. All of this came with the added ‘fun’ of transporting lots of gear every time I had a session. I decided it was time to get my own place, something I had wanted since I was a teenager. After scouting different rental spaces, it became obvious that renting wasn’t a good option. My amazing wife had the idea of building an extension on our house and making it a soundproof recording studio. Together, she and I, along with our dads built a professional quality, fully soundproof, acoustically phenomenal recording studio. "
"We’re located in Levittown, NY and have been open since September 2024. The artists I’ve been working with have been blown away by the space. It is a studio that is built to provide anything an artist needs to create the best representation of their art. Though I’ve worked with artists from every genre you can think of, heavy music is where my heart is, and to me, the song always starts with the “riff.” I created this studio to be a place where you can shut off the outside world, and focus on being creative. A safe space for making music if you will. Hence “Riff Haven.”"
Some of the artists that Dan has worked with include Gaveldown, Dysfunction Addiction, Peter Lakes, and many more. The Long Island music scene regardless of what genre is absolutely phenomenal and there are so many talented individuals. I am someone who is based from Long Island and out of all the shows I've attended, the local shows are probably the most fun I've ever been to.
