In Her Own Words played a set at the Ceremony Festival at Cannery Hall in Nashville, TN on December 14th.

In Her Own Words is a pop punk group from Los Angeles, California. The band consists of Joey Fleming on vocals and Andretti Amalel on guitar. It formed in 2010 and has released three studio albums and four EPs in its fifteen years of existence.
I had not been to Cannery Hall before this show, and it was surprisingly cool there. Originally built in 1883, Cannery Hall has served as a music venue, flour mill, coffee mill, jarred sauce factory, and a country-style restaurant. The venue consists of three stages, "The MainStage," "The Mil," and "Row One." The venue is unique in its layouts and decor. Despite looking like a run-down old factory, the venue has huge LED screens behind the stage and even fancier bars.

The set began with "Silver Lights" from their 2016 album "Unfamiliar". Joey captured the audience's attention with his bombastic stage presence as he bounced around onstage. The band seems to have fun while they play, their chemistry is electric! I was giddy right along with the band.
My boss introduced me to In Her Own Words with "Beg for More," and it exceeded my expectations. You have to experience that song live. Singing the chorus with a crowd is so wonderful, I can't describe it.

Joey teamed up with his partner Hannah from Scene Queen for "Alone With You". I about lost my mind when she made her way to the stage! I adore Hannah's stage energy with her band, but her contribution elevates "Alone With You" to another level. I really hope they re-record the song featuring both Joey's and Hannah's vocals!
Unfortunately, their set was cut short due to technical difficulties. In Her Own Words put on a fantastic set. Even if you don't care for pop punk, they are so fun to watch! I've never seen a crowd more engaged with a band. Be sure to catch them when they come through your town! In Her Own Words will be joining Have Mercy on their U.S. tour in March.
