Theatrical metalcore icons Ice Nine Kills have recently announced that they are hitting the road once again this summer for another US headliner tour, the “Hell of a Summer” Tour. The band is currently touring with Metallica, supporting them on night 1 of their M72 World Tour North American dates, as well as headlining their own North American tour, the “Silver Scream-A-Thon” Tour, in which they perform for two nights in each city they visit and perform either The Silver Scream or Welcome to Horrorwood in full, depending on the night.
Produced by Live Nation, the “Hell of a Summer” Tour will be Ice Nine Kills’ biggest headliner to date, visiting amphitheaters and arenas across the country. The tour will begin August 10 in Waukee, IA, and conclude with a hometown show on September 13 in Worcester, MA at the band’s annual horror convention Silver Scream Con. Joining as support are Dayseeker, Kim Dracula, and The Funeral Portrait, who are a few of the biggest rising stars in the current metal scene. Starting on September 2, punk legends MEST will join the lineup, and A Loss for Words will make a special guest appearance at the final show of the tour.
About the tour, vocalist Spencer Charnas shared: “The HELL OF A SUMMER TOUR will be a celebration of all things INK — past, present, and future. It’s an eclectic bill, and having MEST on some of the shows is a particularly full-circle moment for me. As many Psychos will remember, I formed the band after seeing Goldfinger and MEST in Worcester 25 years ago. The date is so important to me that I have it tattooed behind my ear. The tour culminates in a sure-to-be historic performance at the DCU Center, where I experienced some of my first arena shows as a kid, including the Family Values Tour with our current tourmates, Limp Bizkit, and home of the Silver Scream Con. The HELL OF A SUMMER TOUR’s last stop, at the Silver Scream Con, will also feature some New England punk rock royalty as a very special guest.”
