Metalcore powerhouse I Prevail unleashed their fourth single “Annihilate Me” off their upcoming album “Violent Nature” on August 15. The new record will be released on September 19 via Fearless Records on all platforms. A lyric video was released to accompany the single, which can be watched HERE.
“Annihilate Me” comes after three previous singles released over the past three months, including “Rain,” “Into Hell,” and the titular single “Violent Nature.”
The song begins with a slow, clean buildup through the first verse before exploding into the chorus. The anthemic nature of the track harkens back to an older and more raw sound, suggesting the band is going back to their roots. Like the rest of the record, “Annihilate Me” is part of the start of a new era for I Prevail of only having one lead singer. Earlier this year, the band mutually parted ways with former clean vocalist Brian Burkeiser.
The band’s current lineup consists of vocalist and frontman Eric Vanlerberghe, bassist and keyboardist Jon Eberhard, guitarists Steve Menoian and Dylan Bowman and drummer Gabe Helguera. The entirety of “Violent Nature” was produced by Eberhard.
“‘Annihilate Me’ feels like one of the most I Prevail songs on the album. It’s about opening yourself up over and over again only to keep getting cut down, but regardless of how many times you’ve been pushed down you’re going to push yourself further - even if that means your own annihilation.”
