On Friday, May 2nd, 2025- horror-themed metal band Ice Nine Kills has just released "A Work Of Art" (Live in Melbourne, Australia). The footage was filmed while Ice Nine Kills was on tour with The Amity Affliction at a sold-out arena show at Melbourne's John Cain Arena on November 14th, 2024. Hailing from Worcester, Massachusetts, Ice Nine Kills currently comprises of frontman Spencer Charnas, guitarists Ricky Armellino, Dan Sugarman and Miles Dimitri Baker, bassist Joe Occhiuti and drummer Mike Cortada.
Renowned for their ferocious tracks inspired by iconic horror films, the band has carved out chart hitting albums such as, "The Silver Scream" and "The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood". The albums are inspired by well-known horror films such as 'Scream', 'Jigsaw', 'Hellraiser', 'Child's Play', 'Nightmare On Elm Street' and many more to mention. You can view the live performance below.
"A Work Of Art" is a true masterpiece, featured on No. 1 hit horror movie franchise 'Terrifier 3'. After multiple viewings of the movie, the music video still leaves me in shock with how gory and how top-tier the production is. The track features System Of A Down's Shavo Odadjian, and Leah Voysey, who is known for her role as the Clown Cafe girl in the Terrifier series. The "A Work Of Art" music video has special guests, such as SiriusXM's Jose "Metal Ambassador" Mangin, Vincent Rockwell of SiriusXM Liquid Metal and the one and only David Howard Thornton- the actor behind Art The Clown himself.
Filmed by Josh Hickie and edited by CaliberTV; the live performance captures the bloody thirsty spectacle that Ice Nine Kills fans, referred as "psychos" are expected to witness during the performance. Known for bringing their horror-inspired songs to life on stage, the band embraces theatricality and has actors portraying characters from the films that inspire each track. In the "A Work Of Art" live performance video, an actor who reenacts Art The Clown performs scenes from the music video. In the pre-breakdown, Voysey sings a haunting melody, similar to the "Welcome To The Clown Cafe" song that is featured in Terrifier 2. Frontman Spencer Charnas and Art are seen tossing around a fake baby prop from the music video. Art forms what they call a 'wall of death'. He is seen armed with a trash bag full of blown up balloon swords and continues to toss them into the crowd. In comparison to the music video, there was a 'wall of death' with props that resembled real weapons, however it adds a special twist to the live performance. The actual "A Work Of Art" music video plays in the background, enhancing the visual terror, giving fans a true horror experience.
Ice Nine Kills has begun slashing through towns across the United States and Canada on their 'Silver Scream-A-Thon' tour. Each venue, they are going to be performing a sequel two nights. One night will consist of the 'The Silver Scream' in full, and the next day fans will have the chance to hear for night two 'The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood' in it's entirety.
