Hollywood & N9ne Returns Ignites the Stage – Hollywood Undead, Tech N9ne, Zero 9:36 & Set It Off Unleash a Genre-Smashing Night in Toronto

On May 4th, the 'Hollywood & N9ne Returns' tour tore through Toronto, bringing the co-headlining chaos of Hollywood Undead and Tech N9ne with blistering support from Zero 9:36 and Set It Off, delivering a night that was unforgettable.

Zero 9:36 opened the night with a set that blurred the line between digital darkness and raw aggression. Tracks like “Adrenaline” and “The End” hit with gut-punch bass, sending every note up your spine. Zero 9:36's delivery was sharp and emotionally charged, with the crowd erupting when Matthew stalked the edge of the stage, locking eyes with the front row. In September of 2024, Zero: 9:36 has unveiled his brand new album titled 'None Of Us Are Getting Out' and as of January of this year, he released a different version of "Chasing Shadows", featuring Brandon Saller of Atreyu.

Next, Set It Off brought a chaotic, almost theatrical performance to the stage. Vocalist Cody Carson commanded the stage, belting into the crowd during “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing.” Guitarist Zach DeWall and bassist Boston T. provided the perfect storm of bounce and bite, while drummer Maxx Danziger kept the tempo relentless. Fans absolutely went crazy in the pit for their well known tracks such as "Parasite", "The Haunting", and "Punching Bag".

And just when I thought the show peaked—Hollywood Undead took the stage.

The now unmasked rap-rock sensation from Los Angeles, continues to dominate stages and speakers with their signature mix of hip-hop, metal, and electronic elements. The current 5 man lineup features Charlie Scene (vocals, guitar), J-Dog (vocals, guitar, keyboards, production), Johnny 3 Tears (vocals, bass), and Danny (vocals, keyboards), alongside Funny Man (vocals), who bring melodic hooks that have become a core part of the band’s sound. The group is signed to Sumerian Records and most recently released new singles like "Hollywood Forever", as well as "Hollywood Forever (Funny Man Remix)". In 2022, the band has unveiled an album titled 'City Of The Dead', which features tracks such as “House of Mirrors” (featuring Jelly Roll) and “Evil”, which showcase a darker, more polished evolution of their sonic aggression. Blending introspection with undeniable energy. Hollywood Undead continues to push boundaries while staying true to the gritty, no-holds-barred attitude that first put them on the map.

With lights starting to flare, the crowd instantly snapped into chaos mode as Charlie Scene, Johnny 3 Tears, J-Dog, Funny Man, and Danny launched into “Riot”, taking their places on the multilevel rises. With palm trees glowing and colourful lights filling the venue, the pit exploded and crowd surfers rose up, soaring over the crowd. Each member took their turn at the mic, trading the spotlight and verses throughout their 13 song setlist. “Everywhere I Go,” and “Undead” had the entire venue shaking, especially when Charlie’s clean choruses cut through the grime with haunting clarity. J-Dog and Danny stalked the stage with menace, Johnny 3 Tears’ flow was razor sharp, and Funny Man had the crowd howling with every gritty line. If you had not yet have the chance to see Hollywood Undead live, you are completely missing out.

Last but not least, Tech N9ne grazed the stage, closing the night with an incredible performance. Tech N9ne, co-founder of Strange Music, continues to lead independent hip-hop with relentless creativity. His most recent album, 'Bliss', released in 2023, features introspective tracks like “Red Aura” and “Knock,” along with features from Joyner Lucas and Conway the Machine. In 2024, he followed up with the collaborative album 'COSM' (Class of Strange Music), focusing the spotlight on artists from his label. Known for his rapid-fire delivery and genre-blending style, Tech N9ne shows no signs of slowing down as he prepares for his 26th solo project.

Dressed in his signature Strange Music gear, Tech N9ne stormed the stage with a display of lyrical precision and raw power. Performing 30 tracks including “Stamina,” “Killing You,” and closing the night with “Hood Go Crazy”, his set hit harder live than any recording could capture. Tech’s energy was untouchable—pure professionalism wrapped in wild-eyed fury.

The 'Hollywood & N9ne Returns' tour isn’t just a show—it’s a gathering of misfits, metalheads, and lyrical assassins. The crowd? Rowdy, wild, loyal to the bone, and louder than the amps. This is what it feels like when genres collide, and nobody backs down.

If you miss this tour, you’re missing the resurrection of the underground—louder, grimier, and more united than ever.
