Melbourne-based metalcore band HEAVENSGATE have slowly been taking the world by storm. Of course, they are currently conquering the Australian metal scene, but they are now beginning to gain more notoriety throughout the world. The song itself is a personal one for HEAVENSGATE, as it is their way of dealing with loss and grief. It is an intense song, and the emotions are transparent throughout the lyrics and the heavy instrumentals. When asked about the song, the band stated, “While this is a personal story told by us, the symptoms of emotional isolation and helplessness are symptoms of grief we all share”.
Incredibly, this song is also all self-produced, there is no one who helped them with this. “Every element of this track, from the lyrics to the instrumentation, was crafted to reflect a deeply personal vision, making the final result an uncompromised and authentic expression of our sound."
This is an intense song that borders on the verge of hardcore, but metalcore and hardcore fans alike will find something to like about this song. It is clear that HEAVENSGATE have a bright future ahead of them in the heavy music scene, as they are clearly making waves. They have yet to release a full length album, just having a couple of songs and an EP under their belt. If you want to say that you knew HEAVENSGATE before they blew up, now is the time to get into them. You will definitely not be disappointed if you do.
