If you’re looking for a punk band deserving of way more recognition, look no further than Heart Attack Man. They emerged in 2014 and have already an impressive catalog of catchy and explosive tracks feeling as anthemic for any alt-kid of any scene. They just dropped their title track for their forthcoming album titled ‘Joyride The Pale Horse’. The album is set to be released on April 25. While it may be hard to believe for some fans that the band is about to be on their fourth studio album, they remain consistent in putting out catchy tunes with meaningful lyrics behind them.
Vocalist Eric Egan mentioned that this was ironically the first track that the band worked on and that it set the fundamentals of what would be the energy of this project. The video showcases him in an office of some sorts with screen printing the lyrics from the song onto various objects. While similar bands in the pop punk space often cover topics of heartaches, break ups, and spiraling mental health, Heart Attack Man takes it a step further talking about heavier tones, specifically death, and one's existential fate. They always tend to contrast it with crunchy and palm mutey guitars as well as catchy hooks that are made to have loads of crowd surfers and moshers nearby at their live shows.
Heart Attack Man is set to be out on tour for the next few months starting with Australia as they open for Dear Seattle, followed by a trip to the U.K. with Free Throw as they circle dates built around the pop punk driven Slam Dunk Festival. After that’s all said and done, they’ll be touring across the United States with a few Canada stops as well, with The Dirty Nil, carpool, and Dear Seattle going out as support. The U.S. leg begins on June 4 in Pittsburgh PA, and concludes on August 9 in Oklahoma City OK. Tickets are available now.
