Halestorm, the GRAMMY-winning hard rock powerhouse originally formed by siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale with guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith, returns this summer with their highly anticipated sixth studio album, Everest, due August 8 via Atlantic Records. Produced by GRAMMY-winner Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), the record promises an expansive and emotionally charged journey through the band's two-decade evolution.
The album’s first single, “Darkness Always Wins,” released last week, offers a brooding and electrifying preview of Everest. Already named the “Greatest Gainer” at Active Rock radio, the track has earned praise from Rolling Stone for being “catchy, brooding, and dramatic in all the ways we love Halestorm songs to be,” while Revolver highlighted its “metal-chunked bridge, loud-as-hell requiem bells, and a classically rippin’ rock guitar solo.”
“Our album Everest is a story of our journey as a band, full of beautiful endings and new beginnings,” says frontwoman Lzzy Hale. “We weave a tangled web of melancholy, frustration, anger, and the vast purgatory of love and love lost. It’s a rollercoaster of epic musical detours, great songwriting, and completely unhinged twists and turns. Everest is an auditory representation of the four pillars of Halestorm. Let us reintroduce ourselves and invite you into our world… if you dare.”
In support of Everest, Halestorm will embark on their massive nEVEREST Global Tour, spanning September to November 2025. Co-headlining the U.S. and Canadian legs of the tour with multi-award-winning violinist and performer Lindsey Stirling, and supported by cello-metal legends Apocalyptica, the tour promises an epic fusion of rock, classical, and theatrical performance. Bloodywood and Kelsy Karter & The Heroines will join select dates across Europe and the UK.
The nEVEREST tour follows Halestorm’s summer dates supporting Iron Maiden across Europe, a one-night-only performance at Black Sabbath’s final show in Birmingham, and a full run with Volbeat in the U.S. through July and August.
Since their inception, Halestorm has achieved seven #1 hits at rock radio, over one billion streams globally, and two GRAMMY nominations—including a win in 2012 for “Love Bites (So Do I)” in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category. Known for their ferocious live energy and boundary-pushing sound, Halestorm has performed with iconic acts like Heaven & Hell, Alice Cooper, and Joan Jett.
