Known for their thought-provoking songwriting and emotional depth, Hail The Sun have unveiled their newest single, “Relapse Is A Love Affair,” taken from their upcoming album cut. turn. fade. back., set for release on Friday, October 24 via Equal Vision / Civilians, and fans can pre-save, pre-add, or pre-order the album now.

Produced and engineered by Pete Adams and GRAMMY® winner Johnny Kosich of Beach Noise (Kendrick Lamar), and mixed and mastered by Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon, Coheed and Cambria), cut. turn. fade. back. finds Hail The Sun pushing their sound further than ever. Across 11 tracks, the album explores themes of war, addiction, loss, and mortality — reflecting the cyclical nature of life itself. This album also marks their first collaboration with Beach Noise, longtime friends who bring a fresh, dynamic perspective from the hip-hop world.

Frontman Donovan Melero shared the personal story behind the track:

“After almost 14 years sober, I relapsed in 2023. It felt like giving in to a love affair — that temptation is always there, waiting for a weak moment. Thankfully, with the support of my family and friends, I was able to get back on track.”

The band recently headlined Kill Iconic Fest in San Antonio, TX, and are currently on a North American co-headlining tour with Between The Buried and Me.

From the explosive opener “The Drooling Class” to the closing chaos of “War Crimes,” cut. turn. fade. back. showcases the band’s signature mix of precision, passion, and experimentation. Tracks like “There’s No Place in Heaven for Fakes,” “Insensitive Tempo,” “Blight,” and “I Can Tell By the Scars” highlight their unrelenting creativity and emotional honesty.

“Whether or not listeners take away our intended message isn’t what matters most,” Melero says. “What’s important is that it makes people think. Fifteen years in, we’re lucky to have a fanbase that keeps growing and allows us to keep creating — and we’re endlessly grateful for that.”TRACK LISTING01. The Drooling Class02.
