German Alt-Rock Band Letters Sent Home Release Powerful New Single "September 29"

Germany’s rising alt-rock force Letters Sent Home return with their most vulnerable and cinematic work to date. Since forming in 2015 in northern Germany, Letters Sent Home—comprised of Emily Paschke (vocals), Lara Ripke (bass), Robin Werner (guitar), and Louis Schramm (drums)—have built a reputation for transforming personal struggle into powerful, melodic alt-rock anthems. Their sound blends the emotional intensity of post-hardcore and emo with the atmospheric depth of modern alt-rock, carving out a unique space that feels both deeply familiar and refreshingly new. Their new single, "September 29," is available now via SharpTone Records, and it finds the band stepping even further into the emotionally charged territory that has become their hallmark.

Following the critical acclaim of their debut album Forever Undone, this new track doesn’t just continue the story—it sharpens the focus. Where Forever Undone explored themes of mental health and religious trauma with searing honesty, "September 29" zooms in on one deeply personal, transformative moment for vocalist Emily Paschke: the slow, heartbreaking loss of a loved one to dementia.

Built on sweeping dynamics, textural guitar work, and Emily’s hauntingly beautiful vocals, the song is equal parts intimate confession and cathartic release. It swells and contracts like grief itself—gentle and crushing, distant and immediate, all at once.

"'September 29' is about the pain of watching someone I love fade away, and the complicated peace I found in knowing they were ready to go—even if that belief clashed with my own understanding of the world," Emily shares. "It’s a song about loss, acceptance, and learning to hold both at once."

"September 29" continues their evolution, pairing sharp lyrical detail with a sound that’s as sweeping as it is personal. It’s not just another single—it’s a statement of intent. The band isn’t afraid to go deeper, to push harder, and to be even more emotionally exposed.
