On April 23rd, 2025- Dayseeker has just unveiled a brand new haunting single titled "Pale Moonlight" via Spinefarm Records. Dayseeker is a metalcore band from Southern California that currently comprises of members Rory Rodriguez (vocals), Gino Sgambelluri (guitars), Ramone Valerio (bass), and lastly Zac Mayfield (drums). Since the band's release of their acoustic album 'Replica', "Pale Moonlight" is the first release since. You can stream the song below.
"Pale Moonlight" was produced by Daniel Braunstein, who is known for producing for bands like Spiritbox, Silent Planet. It was taken to the studio to be mixed by Zakk Cervini, who's known to work alongside Blink-182 and Lorna Shore and many more. The music video takes place in a dark scenery where it appears Rodriguez is at a club, while in other scenes, him and the rest of the band members appear to be in a abandoned cathedral type of place. The band appears to be living in a world full of toxicity and surrounding themselves with the Devil. The music video was directed by Jensen Noen, who's filmed music videos for Falling In Reverse, Black Veil Brides, and Bring Me The Horizon.
According to vocalist Rory Rodriguez, he tells fans, "'Pale Moonlight' is about giving in to your vices...It's about the addiction to things that you know are toxic for you — but you simply can't stop yourself."
Dayseeker always continues to impress me every time. One thing that really strikes my attention was listening to the lyrics "I didn't need help to ruin my life, Dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight". The melodies in the vocals absolutely were beautiful and hearing Rodriguez's layered harmonies were layered so perfectly. Another thing that really surprised me was hearing a breakdown in the track. When Dayseeker unleashed 'Dark Sun' in 2022, they toned it down a bit with the heaviness, but hearing this new era of Dayseeker is absolutely incredible.

The song is classic Dayseeker and they've leveled up. It features the band's signature contemplative lyrics ("I didn't need help to ruin my life / Dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight"), elevated melodics, and hooks that remain as unforgettable as ever. The breakdowns clamp down with a ferocious bite, deftly demonstrating just how dynamic Dayeeker's music is. It's a melancholic rager that cyclones through a myriad of emotions. There's a lot to unpack in the space of four minutes and that's what makes "Pale Moonlight" such a rewarding listen.
Follow the band through a dark club and ever darker corners of the world in the accompanying visual.
Simply put, Dayseeker are a quiet killer.
Dayseeker truly became a scene standout with 2019's Sleeptalk, a watershed moment and a harbinger of things to come for the band. It was hailed by Alternative Press as "a warm and welcome release to higher ground" and "a much-needed breath of fresh air into the post-hardcore scene." It was 2022's Dark Sun that catapulted Dayseeker to inevitable game-changer status, with the band's cumulative global streams totaling over 600 million worldwide, a cover appearance on Outburn, and key press love from Artist Friendly, Peer Pleasure, idobi, and more. A global, sold-out headline tour in theater-sized venues followed, and the band enjoyed support treks with Pierce the Veil and Bad Omens. Their eagerly awaited new full-length release is due out later this year.
